HAMBURG JAZZ PORTRAITS
As a jazz portrait photographer based in Hamburg, I photograph international jazz musicians for my ongoing Hamburg Jazz Portraits series and for commissioned projects in artist promotion, press, websites and album releases.
Since 2018, I have photographed musicians visiting Hamburg to perform at clubs and venues such as Birdland and the JazzHall. The ongoing black-and-white series includes artists such as Bill Frisell, Anat Cohen, William Parker, Billy Hart and Jakob Bro, each portrayed in short, focused sessions around their performances.
My portable studio setup allows me to create concentrated portrait sessions at concert venues or backstage, without the need for a traditional studio. The portraits are made in a matter of minutes, with a focus on the presence and individuality of each musician.
My work includes the album cover portrait for Vincent Peirani's Living Being IV, released on ACT Music.
